Taziry Ecolodge, Siwa

Just saw the website for this ecolodge in Siwa that looks very interesting.

I haven't spoken to them, haven't stayed there, just found their website very interesting. . .

This does look interesting. I haven't stayed in Taziry, and it may be very good, however, it looks like a rip off of Adrere Amellal, otherwise known as 'the ecolodge in Siwa'. Adrere Amellal has become one of the leading hotels in Africa and is an amazingly stunning place to stay - to the extent that I wouldn't go to Siwa and NOT stay there. The food is all locally grown, the cooks fantastic and the hospitality friendly, considerate and utterly discreet.

Hi Kim, yes, their website is: http://www.adrereamellal.net/. I have a page (Delights) with a small review too.

It's not a budget option by any stretch of the imagination, but you get what you pay for. Also, this place has never ever advertised (their website is even relatively new), it grew on word of mouth. It's appeared in French Elle and some other interior design magazines.

Sometimes they let non-guests have a look around, sometimes not.

The same owner also owns Shali Lodge in the oasis, which is also lovely, just more of a normal experience than Adrere. It does have electricity though, so good if you want to watch TV, use a hairdryer or a fan.

we stayed at Taziry Eco lodge and had a wonderful time. I thoroughly recommend it. The food is also grown in organic gardens, there is a natural spring fed swimming pool and the staff and hosts are wonderful, making the stay unforgettably special....

Hi, I wonder if you know of any local fishing in the area? Does the oasis lake offer fishing for the local people? Casting nets out or fishing from hand made boats?

Any info would be much appreciated!

Many Thanks
